APMSA Training Course Information

All APMSA Courses are presented by lecturers at IPMA Level B or evaluated to be at IPMA Level B. Therefore, not only knowledge is imparted, but also relevant experience.

The elements of the framework are selectively included in the courses. Apart from the standard course, these courses could be customised to address certain topics in more detail according to customers' needs.

The following is an indication of the face-to-face training hours for each level. This excludes assignments and evidence reports.

Level D (80 hours face-to-face)

Training for Level D consists of 2 options:

  •   6 Months: Apr –Sep 2010 or Oct 2010 – Mar 2011. Lectures on Friday and Saturdays (average one Friday and Saturday per month)
  • 12 Months: Apr 2010 – Mar 2011. Lectures only on Saturdays (average one Saturday per month)

If the candidate has another Project Management qualification/certificate and wants to enrol for Level D, a RPL (recognition for prior learning) evaluation is required.

 

Level C (120 hours face-to-face)
Level C lectures comprises of 80 hours of level D lectures and an additional 40 hours. Further to the 80 hours for Level D as shown above, training for Level C consists of 2 options:

  •   6 Months: Apr –Sep 2010 or Oct 2010 – Mar 2011. Lectures on Wednesdays (average one Wednesday per month)
  • 12 Months: Apr 2010 – Mar 2011. Lectures on Wednesdays (5x Wednesdays over the year)

RPL: If the candidate does not have a current Level D certificate or has another Project Management qualification/certificate and wants to enrol for Level C, a RPL (recognition for prior learning) evaluation is required. The evaluation level must be at Level D.


Level B (80 hours face-to-face)

Training for Level B consists of 2 options:

  • 6 Months: Lectures on Thursday and Fridays (average one Thursday and Friday per month)
  • 12 Months: Lectures only on Thursdays (average one Thursday per month)

4-L-C Elements does not follow in a specific sequence. Therefore Level B candidates can start the course at any month during the year.
RPL: If the candidate does not have a current Level C certificate and wants to enrol for Level B, a RPL (recognition for prior learning) evaluation is required. The evaluation level must be at Level C.

Level A (80 hours face-to-face)
Training for Level A consists of:

  •   12 Months: Lectures only on Wednesdays (average one Wednesday per month)

4-L-C Elements does not follow in a specific sequence. Therefore Level A candidates can start the course at any month during the year.
RPL: If the candidate does not have a current Level B certificate and wants to enrol for Level A, a RPL (recognition for prior learning) evaluation is required. The evaluation level must be at Level B.
